Every minute of every day, consumers consumers create 1,820 Terabytes of data including:
- 90,000 tweets
- 695,000 status updates
- 11,000,000 instant messages
- 168 million emails
- 698,445 Google searches.
Big Data is getting bigger but with all of that information it’s easy to miss the trees for the forest.
The next evolution in marketing is all about building real connections with the right individuals rather than superficial connections with the masses. And what makes this possible is the incredible amount of real-time data we now have at our disposal.
But Big Data itself isn’t terribly useful unless it’s used to get closer to our audiences, to understand how they think and feel and to help us shape the small interactions that deliver better and more meaningful experiences.
